The new revitalized  -  Dorcas Ladies Ministry

  

   Our Dorcas Society is composed of women who believe in doing Christ-honoring work and activities.  We get our name of  "Dorcas" from Acts 9:36, which describes her as "A disciple; a woman abounding in good deeds and acts of charity, who used her talents for the good of others."   Through this organized group, we combine our time, talents, and efforts in doing good works and edifying the body of Christ.  We have implemented a new project called "Friendship Evangelism" and hope to reach more women in our church and community by offering craft projects, cooking lessons and practical hospitality sessions.  We also put on special luncheons and events geared specifically towards women.

   Dorcas is open to all ladies of our church, and visitors are always welcomed.  Dorcas serves the community assisting a local men's homeless shelter, serves a local shelter for abused and battered women, and offers small blessings gifts to two local convalescent care centers.

   We meet for "Faith by Works" sessions on the first Tuesday of each month at 7 pm.  This is an excellent way for our ladies to become better acquainted and serve our community in a charitable service.  Work time, a short devotion, and a business meeting accompanies each session.
