APRIL 13, 2008 NOAH'S ARK DAY, and THE BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS Criticized by a few for even having such a blessing, CBC went on to be a blessing to those that came.
Linda with Dobbie, & cat in the carrier. Sean's dog, Jenny's bird. Roland's dog usually waits outside. Bud brought Clyde, a relative's Great Dane. Lined up at front, we read the prayer together. The bulldog belongs to a neighbor who doesn't attend.
Seeing most will not come to church to hear the message of the cross, Saturday, Mar 1 we took the message of the cross to them, along with a cross of our own. We handed out invitations to the church along with The Gospel of John.
Pastor Merrill leading the way with the cross. Giving printed invitation / Gospel of John to a neighbor Making contact with those on a walk. Walking down the business district.
On Easter morning (2008) we used this cross again, flowering it during the Easter service as a memorial of thanksgiving and adoration to our Lord, no longer to be shown upon the cross, but risen from the dead!
Easter morning also found CBC on the front page of the Daily Breeze newspaper!
